6. Approve Minutes from the Regular Mayor and Board of Aldermen Meeting on

   April 21, 2026.

    

7. Consent

1. Approve J. Herring and R. Daniels to attend the 2026 MEMS Conference in Biloxi MS on October 12-15, 2026, and pay for all registration and travel expenses (Fire Department).
2. Approve J. McCormick to attend Fire Officer II in Southaven, MS on May 11-14, 2026, and pay registration. No travel or lodging is needed. (Fire Department)
3. Approval for Tony Ezell in Planning Department to travel to Oxford, MS for the 2024 Fire and Smoke Protection Features on June 3^rd and to reimburse expenses.
4. Approval for Stephen Hodges (Public Works Director) and Chris Lauderdale (who will be co-teaching a class) to attend the MML Summer 2026 conference on June 28-July 2, 2026 and pay for registration, lodging, and travel.
5. Approval for John Williams to use the track at Kuykendall Park on Saturday 5/16/26 from 5:00 AM until 10:00 PM for a fundraiser to raise awareness about suicide among veterans.
6. Approval of having a DeSoto County Museum meeting at the Gale Center May 21^st, 2026 from 5pm-9pm at no charge.
7. Approval for the First Regional Library, in coordination with the Hernando Friends of the Library, to host at no charge a foam party at Conger Park on July 25 from 8:30am – 1:00pm and for use of the large pavilion there at no charge.  This event is free for the community.
8. Police Department surplus items:

    

    

   1. Approval for the Mayor, Gia Matheny, and Aldermen to attend the Destination Downtown Conference in Baton Rouge, LA, 9/8 - 9/11/26 and pay for registration and all travel expenses.

   3. Presentation of Community Service Award - Robert and Katherine Spears Family.

       

       

   4. Approve Resolution for donation to The Arc in the amount of $25,000.00 .

       

   5. Approval for the increase of the City’s match for the LWCF Grant – Funded Project for the Milton Kuykendall Park Lighting Improvements. Requested increase is for an additional $104,396, which would be a total of $280,896

       

   6. Approval of Change Order for Renasant Park MOSTF Phase #1 in the amount of $4,106.30.

       

   7. Approval of Change Order for Renasant Park Ballpark Phase #2 in the amount of $1,609.30.
