- Approve Minutes from the Regular Mayor and Board of Aldermen Meeting on
April 21, 2026.
- Consent
- Approve J. Herring and R. Daniels to attend the 2026 MEMS Conference in Biloxi MS on October 12-15, 2026, and pay for all registration and travel expenses (Fire Department).
- Approve J. McCormick to attend Fire Officer II in Southaven, MS on May 11-14, 2026, and pay registration. No travel or lodging is needed. (Fire Department)
- Approval for Tony Ezell in Planning Department to travel to Oxford, MS for the 2024 Fire and Smoke Protection Features on June 3rd and to reimburse expenses.
- Approval for Stephen Hodges (Public Works Director) and Chris Lauderdale (who will be co-teaching a class) to attend the MML Summer 2026 conference on June 28-July 2, 2026 and pay for registration, lodging, and travel.
- Approval for John Williams to use the track at Kuykendall Park on Saturday 5/16/26 from 5:00 AM until 10:00 PM for a fundraiser to raise awareness about suicide among veterans.
- Approval of having a DeSoto County Museum meeting at the Gale Center May 21st, 2026 from 5pm-9pm at no charge.
- Approval for the First Regional Library, in coordination with the Hernando Friends of the Library, to host at no charge a foam party at Conger Park on July 25 from 8:30am – 1:00pm and for use of the large pavilion there at no charge. This event is free for the community.
- Police Department surplus items:
- Approval for the Mayor, Gia Matheny, and Aldermen to attend the Destination Downtown Conference in Baton Rouge, LA, 9/8 - 9/11/26 and pay for registration and all travel expenses.
- Personnel Docket
- Presentation of Community Service Award - Robert and Katherine Spears Family.
- Approve Resolution for donation to The Arc in the amount of $25,000.00 .
- Approval for the increase of the City’s match for the LWCF Grant – Funded Project for the Milton Kuykendall Park Lighting Improvements. Requested increase is for an additional $104,396, which would be a total of $280,896
- Approval of Change Order for Renasant Park MOSTF Phase #1 in the amount of $4,106.30.
- Approval of Change Order for Renasant Park Ballpark Phase #2 in the amount of $1,609.30.
