    June 2, 2026.

  1. Approval for Gia Matheny to attend the 2026 Mississippi Main Street (MMSA) Revitalization Grant Implementation and Application Workshops with Mississippi Development Authority and MMSA on July 14 & 15 in Jackson, Mississippi and pay travel expenses, no registration fee. Attendance is mandatory for grant recipients.Mayor Johnson will be driving down and back on July 14 (No Per Diem or hotel needed)
  2. Approval to close Panola Street, between Losher St. and W. South St., on Saturday October 16, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for the Hernando Rotary Club Brewfest. The event begins at 6:00 p.m.
  3. Approval of skating rink rental from All Year Sports Galaxy totaling $11,912.00 for Dickens of a Christmas.
  4. Approval D. Henricks, and A. Stovall to attend the FBI Crime Scene Management and Investigation Class in Ridgeland, MS July 12-July 17, 2026 and pay travel expenses. No fee for class. -Police Department
  5. Approval for the Mayor and Board members to attend the MML Small Town Conference in Hattiesburg, MS on Oct 7-9, 2026 and pay for registration and all travel expenses.
  6. Approve for Deborah Rosenberg to attend the Virtual Academy Gold Conference in Nashville, TN on 11/2-11/4/26 and for class, travel expenses. (Class, and travel expenses are reimbursable by MS Standards & Training) Dispatch
  7. Apply for the Visit Mississippi Tourism Development Grant to support the Dickens of a Christmas holiday festival, using eligible event expenses as the required match.
  8. Requesting the Board to approve the service agreement with TJ Sipes “Santa Doughboy” and his team, to appear for the 2026 Cookies with Santa event on Friday, December 4th from 5:00pm – 8:00pm.
  9. Requesting Board approval to enter into an agreement with the independent contractors below to lead instructional classes for Hernando Parks and Recreation during the fall of 2026.
    • Holly Johnson: Tennis
    • Jill Morris: Toddler Time and Move & Groove
  10. Requesting Board approval to allow HYFA to reserve the Milton Kuykendall Park football field (not including the track) for fall 2026 flag football program for the below dates and times:
    • Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 7:00am to Noon.  Following that,
    • Weekdays starting Monday, August 3, 2026 through Friday, November 13, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
    • Saturdays starting August 8, 2026 through November 7, 2026 from 8:00 am to Noon.
  11. Requesting Board approval of the adoption of a fall fee increase to the Independent Travel Baseball and Softball Team Field Rental Policy, which was Board approved in 2022. The proposal is a fall fee increase from $200 to $400 starting with this July 2026 registration opening.  This will align both spring and fall together on pricing.

    2. PL-1972 – A request for final plat approval of Scott Meadows Phase 3 Request for Final Plat approval of 32 lots on 26.97 acres. The subject property is located on the south side of Legacy Lane and Whitfield Lane Section 14, Township 3, Range 8. Andy Richardson, representing the owner.
