Join us for one of the longest-running and most beloved traditions in Hernando! Hosted by the Hernando Optimist Club, the Hernando A’Fair takes place every year on the third Saturday of May, bringing together community, creativity, and family fun on the historic downtown square.

 

Founded in August 1974, this “rain or shine” event has grown year after year into a vibrant celebration—with free admission and free parking for everyone.

Chris Gales Live in Concert 7:00 PM

The fun starts Friday night with live music on the Hernando Town Square from Chris Gales with his soulful R&B and rockin' blues. Inspired by Legeds, Driven by Soul!

Saturday May 16th, 2026

Laurie L. Wylie Memorial 5K – 7:30 AM

Kick off the day with the Laurie L. Wylie Memorial 5K Race, starting at 7:30 AM. Registration takes place on Center Street across from the Trustmark Bank parking lot. All proceeds benefit the Laurie L. Wylie Education Fund, supporting a meaningful local cause.

Artist & Crafter Booths – 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Browse hundreds of unique, handcrafted items from talented artisans lining the courthouse square and downtown streets. From pottery and paintings to jewelry, woodwork, textiles, and more—there’s something for everyone. Many vendors even offer live demonstrations so you can see their craft in action.

Kids Area 9:00AM-4:00PM

Located on Commerce Street at City Hall, the Kids’ Zone is packed with fun for all ages! Enjoy activities like sand art, face painting, hair braiding, and even water walking balls—perfect for keeping little ones (and the young at heart) entertained all day.

 

Food Vendors- 9:00AM to 4:00PM

Come hungry! Food vendors surround the courthouse and extend down Panola Street, offering a wide variety of favorites—BBQ, burgers, corn dogs, home-style meals, homemade ice cream, and sweet treats. Tables and seating are available so you can relax and enjoy the flavors of the fair.
Spend the day shopping, eating, playing, and celebrating community at the Hernando A’Fair—a tradition nearly 50 years strong!
