The City of Hernando is now accepting applicants for the position of Sports Director in the Parks and Recreation Department.

The Sports Director is responsible for the youth and adult sports and athletic programs for the City of Hernando Parks and Recreation Department.  The Sports Director plans, initiates, and supervises various sports activities and tournaments.  This position reports directly to the Deputy Director.

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Manage scheduling and budgeting of athletic programs;      

Manage officiating for athletic programs;

Manage uniform and equipment process;

Oversee the registration process for sports programs;

Minimum Qualifications:

            Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or related area; 2 years’ experience and/or training in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. If you do not possess a degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or a related area, 4 years’ experience is required.  Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekday nights and some weekends as required.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License. CPRP and/or CYSA certifications are preferred.
