Enjoy one of the community’s longest-running traditions as the Hernando A’Fair returns to the historic downtown square Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, 2026.
Hosted by the Hernando Optimist Club, Hernando A’Fair has been a beloved community event since 1974 and continues to bring together families, local businesses, artists, musicians, and visitors from across the region. Admission and parking are free for all attendees.
Friday Night Concert – May 15 7:00 p.m
The weekend celebration begins Friday evening with a live concert on the Hernando Town Square featuring Chris Gales at 7:00 p.m.
Known for his soulful blend of R&B and rockin’ blues, Gales brings an energetic performance inspired by legendary artists and driven by soul.
Saturday Events – May 16
Laurie L. Wylie Memorial 5K – 7:30 a.m.
Saturday morning kicks off with the Laurie L. Wylie Memorial 5K Race beginning at 7:30 a.m. Race day registration will take place on Center Street across from the Trustmark Bank parking lot.
All proceeds from the race benefit the Laurie L. Wylie Education Fund, supporting educational opportunities within the community.
Artist & Crafter Booths – 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Visitors can browse hundreds of handcrafted items from talented artisans and makers located throughout the courthouse square and downtown streets. Vendors will feature pottery, paintings, jewelry, woodworking, textiles, home décor, and more, with many artisans offering live demonstrations throughout the day.
Kids’ Area – 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Kids’ Area, located on Commerce Street near City Hall, will offer family-friendly entertainment and activities for all ages including sand art, face painting, hair braiding, and water walking balls.
Food Vendors – 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A wide variety of food vendors will surround the courthouse square and extend down Panola Street, serving favorites including barbecue, burgers, corn dogs, home-style meals, homemade ice cream, desserts, and more. Seating areas will be available throughout the event.
