Hernando Farmers Market Continues Double Up Food Bucks Program for SNAP/EBT Shoppers

Post Date:05/21/2026 8:00 AM

The Hernando Farmers Market is continuing the Double Up Food Bucks Program for SNAP/EBT for the 2026 season. The program allows shoppers to use SNAP/EBT benefits to stretch their dollars while supporting local farmers and purchasing fresh, healthy food options at the market.

For every $1 spent using a SNAP/EBT card at the Hernando Farmers Market, customers receive an additional $1 in Double Up Food Bucks tokens for free to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables, up to $20 per transaction.

Market tokens may be used on eligible products throughout the season, and unused tokens can be saved and used during future visits to the market.

As more seasonal produce becomes available throughout the summer months, shoppers will find an increasing variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables available from regional farmers and vendors.

Visitors can purchase tokens with SNAP/EBT at the Market Information Table located near the front courthouse steps.

The Hernando Farmers Market is open every Saturday from May through October from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and features local produce, baked goods, meats, dairy products, handmade goods, flowers, and more.
