The City of Hernando is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 17th Annual Hernando Water Tower 10K & Half Marathon on Saturday, October 10, 2026!

After an incredible year in 2025, we’re ready to make this year’s event even bigger and better. Last year’s race welcomed 731 runners from 97 cities, 20 states, and 2 countries for a memorable day celebrating health, fitness, and community spirit in Hernando.

Thanks to the amazing support of runners, sponsors, volunteers, and donors, the 2025 event raised more than $20,000 for the Hernando Excel By 5 Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

These funds help provide children in our community with specially selected, age-appropriate books mailed directly to their homes each month, encouraging a lifelong love of reading and helping prepare children for success in school. As enrollment continues to grow, community support is more important than ever.

Whether you’re an experienced runner, a casual walker, or looking to challenge yourself with the Half Marathon, we invite you to join us for one of Hernando’s favorite annual events.
