Thank you to our sponsors for making our art contest awesome! The Hernando Optimist Club provided art kits for all of our winners, Fairway Mortgage provided cash prizes and framed certificates, the Desoto Arts Council provided art camp scholarships for the grand prize and all 1st place winners and Budsies is making a stuffed toy that will look like the winning artwork's character. We can't wait to show you the Budsie when it arrives!

WHY PLAY 3V3?

With fewer players on the field, each player has more opportunities to touch the ball, using and improving their soccer skills. Small-sided games can develop your player’s decision-making, technical attributes, tactical knowledge and physical conditioning through functional movements. Small-sided soccer is FUN and allows more opportunities to score. Scoring can increase self-esteem, character development and team chemistry!

Here are some of the benefits of playing 3v3:

More touches on the ball
Increased number of game related decision-making opportunities
Constant transition from attacking to defensive situations
Increased 1 vs. 1 encounters in both attacking and defending situations
Increased opportunities to utilize specific ball skills
Increased opportunity to be in a goal scoring position
Increased opportunities to be in a 2 vs. 1 attacking and defending situation

Pitch Hit and Run 2024

"Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run is a free event that provides boys and girls -- ages 7 to 14 -- an opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills, while earning a chance to attend and perform during the MLB World Series!

Athletes are tested, and their measurements are recorded. Based on their scores, they advance from a local event to a Team Championship held in MLB stadiums. Top scores then qualify for an all-expenses-paid trip for two to compete at Finals, which is hosted at the World Series."
